DIY or ..... ?

The biggest money-saving tip we have found (especially as homeowners) is to do it yourself. If you hire out to do something, you are likely going to pay the cost of materials times two for labor!

My hubby is great at being able to do some BIG projects himself (or with the help of friends/family). Some of these projects include: roofing, siding, building a playhouse, laying new flooring, putting on mufflers, changing oil in the vehicles, etc.

If you don't know how to do something, think of a friend that may know how that would be willing to teach you how to do it. Google it (you'd be surprised how many people are able to do something and then post their results online - oh wait, you know - you've seen some of MY posts!)

Don't be afraid to barter services either! Lots of people out there need something - and are willing to work in trade for it.
